Tara Sauter was named to the all-tournament team with 142 assists on the weekend.

FARGO, ND - The Northern State volleyball team had no trouble rolling over the St. Cloud State Huskies in a 30-25, 30-23, 35-33 sweep over the NCC team on Saturday in the NDSU Doublewood Inn Classic.

Northern hit .197 on the night and posted 13 blocks as a team to propel itself to its second win of the season.

Sophomore outside hitter Renae Sparling led the Wolves' offensive charge with ten kills and ten digs. Tara Sauter put up 31 set assists and Jessica Bates owned the net with seven blocks bringing her season total to 27.

The Wolves won the first two games in convincing fashion but had to rally from seven points down in the third to come back and win 35-33.

"I thought that it was a good tournament for us," commented Head Coach Lisa Schriver. "Playing four matches was a good thing to gain experience and give us a chance to figure some things out. I really think that we figured out how to compete and worked hard every point. We saw a lot of growth here this weekend."

Tara Sauter, who posted 142 assists on the weekend, was named to the all-tournament team. This is Sauter's second all-tournament award of her career also gaining honors at the Hawaiian Style Tournament last season.

Northern State (2-2) will face off against South Dakota State in a match played in Pierre, S.D. on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
