NSU GETS SWEPT BY FIGHTING SIOUX

BROOKINGS, SD - The Northern State volleyball team was swept for the second time in the SDSU Burger King Classsic on Friday afternoon when the University of North Dakota upended the Wolves 30-19, 30-27, 30-19.

The Sioux hit at a solid .303 clip while holding Northern to a .115 hitting percentage.

The Wolves were led by Jessica Bates who collected 11 kills and Tara Sauter who had 35 assists. Kari LaFrance finished a nice defensive effort with 23 digs while sophomore Laura Nelson finished with a team high three blocks.

Northern State drops to 2-5 on the season and UND improves to 2-3. The Wolves will meet St. Cloud State Saturday morning in Marshall, Minn.
