WOLVES SURVIVE BEARCATS IN 3-2 DECISION

OMAHA, NEB . - After dropping a five-game match to No. 12 Minnesota State, Mankato earlier in the day, the Wolves decided that it was time to turn the tables by handing Northwest Missouri State a 30-17, 29-31, 22-30, 35-33, 15-13 setback in the North Central Challenge in Omaha on Friday night.

The Wolves came out of the gates hot winning game one handily but fell in a close game two and in game three before narrowly knocking of Northwest 35-33. The Wolves then were victorious in the decisive game five to improve to 4-6 on the year and 1-1 in the tournament.

Jessica Bates improved her career high in kills with 23 on the match while hitting at a .277 rate. Tara Sauter made good for 50 assists and posted 11 digs as well.

Renae Sparling led Wolf defenders with 17 digs in the match while the NSU blocking game came back as the Wolves posted 12.5 team blocks on the night. Larua Nelson led the NSU charge with eight stuffs in the match.

Northern State will meet up with host school Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
