SLIP BY WOLVES IN DAY TWO OF TOURNAMENT
OMAHA,
NEB . - Nebraska-Omaha came out on top of two close games
in Saturday's four-game match with NSU in the final day of
the North Central Challeng in Omaha.
The
Mavericks escaped with a 30-19, 30-26, 19-30, 33-31 victory
as the Wolves dropped to 4-7 on the season.
NSU
senior Jessica Bates (Byron, Wyo.) led NSU hitters for the
fifth match in a row on Saturday with 20 kills and a .300
hitting percentage.
Monica
Inge (Johnston, IA) got in the action with 25 digs and sophomore
Chelsey Deibert posted a match high four blocks on the day.
Team
statistics were very even for the teams with NSU holding a
slim advantage hitting .169 to UNO's .168. Both teams recorded
seven blocks on the day, as well.
Northern
State will play one more road match against South Dakota on
Wednesday before its home-opener against MSU Moorhead on Sep.
20.
