SOUTH DAKOTA TOPS WOLVES IN FOUR GAMES

VERMILLION, S.D. - The University of South Dakota got the better of Northern State in a four-game non-conference match on Wednesday night in the DakotaDome 28-30, 30-21, 30-22, 30-25.

Northern took a 1-0 advantage before giving up the next three games and losing for the eighth time this season.

Northern hit just .127 as a team on the night with Renae Sparling emerging as the hitting leader with 17 kills. Sparling also recorded 16 digs on the evening to complete the double-double.

Monica Ingle led Northern in digs posting 23 on the night while Laura Nelson's five blocks proved to be the team's high.

USD's Becky Olson continuted to shine for the Coyotes with 21 kills and 12 digs. South Dakota hit at a .191 clip on the night with 14.0 team digs in the match.

Northern State drops to 4-8 on the season and will host MSU Moorhead in its conference-opener on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
