CRAIG
CASE HIRED AS NSU VOLLEYBALL ASSISTANT
ABERDEEN,
SD - The Northern State University athletic department has
announced that Craig Case has been hired to serve as assistant
volleyball coach beginning in the 2003 season. Case spent
the 2002 season as the Wolves graduate assistant volleyball
coach and will move into the full-time role beginning this
year.
The Elk
River, Minn. native brings a solid background of coaching
experience to NSU’s program having coached USAV Junior Olympic
volleyball for two seasons. He has also served as a high school
assistant for volleyball, basketball, track and football at
Center Point High School in Center Point, Tex. and, before
coming to Aberdeen, Case was an assistant women’s volleyball
coach and director of intramural programs at St. Lawrence
University in Canton, N.Y.
“I’m
very pleased to be offered this position and this opportunity
within Northern’s athletic department,” commented Case. “I
am really looking forward to being more involved in the program
in the upcoming year and I hope to have a positive influence
on our players’ careers and lives.”
Case
received his bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University
in 1999 and holds a master’s degree in education from St.
Lawrence University and is currently pursuing his master’s
degree in education with an emphasis in physical education,
health and coaching at NSU.
“We’re
really excited to have Craig as a full time assistant coach
with us,” said NSU Head Volleyball Coach Lisa Schriver. “To
have someone with his enthusiasm and volleyball background
is going to be a huge asset to our program. I know that I
as a head coach and all of our players are excited about having
him join us full time.”
Along
with Case’s coaching responsibilities, he will also serve
as an assistant in Northern State’s athletic development office.
