CRAIG CASE HIRED AS NSU VOLLEYBALL ASSISTANT

ABERDEEN, SD - The Northern State University athletic department has announced that Craig Case has been hired to serve as assistant volleyball coach beginning in the 2003 season. Case spent the 2002 season as the Wolves graduate assistant volleyball coach and will move into the full-time role beginning this year.

The Elk River, Minn. native brings a solid background of coaching experience to NSU’s program having coached USAV Junior Olympic volleyball for two seasons. He has also served as a high school assistant for volleyball, basketball, track and football at Center Point High School in Center Point, Tex. and, before coming to Aberdeen, Case was an assistant women’s volleyball coach and director of intramural programs at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

“I’m very pleased to be offered this position and this opportunity within Northern’s athletic department,” commented Case. “I am really looking forward to being more involved in the program in the upcoming year and I hope to have a positive influence on our players’ careers and lives.”

Case received his bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University in 1999 and holds a master’s degree in education from St. Lawrence University and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in education with an emphasis in physical education, health and coaching at NSU.

“We’re really excited to have Craig as a full time assistant coach with us,” said NSU Head Volleyball Coach Lisa Schriver. “To have someone with his enthusiasm and volleyball background is going to be a huge asset to our program. I know that I as a head coach and all of our players are excited about having him join us full time.”

Along with Case’s coaching responsibilities, he will also serve as an assistant in Northern State’s athletic development office.
