INGE NAMED NSIC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Minneapolis, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has named NSU defensive specialist Monica Inge as its NSIC defensive player of the week.

Inge, a 5-foot-9 senior from Johnston, Iowa, helped to lead Northern State to a 2-2 record in its season opening tournament at the Doublewood Inn Classic.

Inge recorded 99 digs in NSU's four-match weekend, including a career high 40 digs in a five-game win over Emporia State. Inge ended the weekend with 6.19 digs per game while the 40-dig performance was just six away from the NSU single-match mark of 46.

Inge and the Wolves will take on South Dakota State Wednesday night in Pierre, S.D. before playing in the SDSU/SMSU Burger King Classic this weekend.
