INGE NAMED NSIC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Minneapolis, Minn. - Northern State senior Monica Inge (Johnston, Iowa) was named as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement came from the league office in Minneapolis, Minn. on Monday.

Inge, a senior libero, led the NSU volleyball defense on a 2-1 week. She recorded 58 digs (5.80 d/g) while adding one kill and five assists moving into 11th place on the NSU all-time digs chart with 1,135 for her career.

This marks the fourth time that Inge has received this award in the 2003 season.

Northern State’s volleyball team, 12-17, 6-9 NSIC, will travel to Minnesota-Duluth to wrap up the 2003 season on Saturday.
