Grand Forks, N.D. -It took five games, but the Wolves pulled out the 3-2 win over Upper Iowa in their opening game at the Northern Extreme Tournament in Grand Forks, ND.
The Wolves dropped game one 30-28, but rallied to take games two and three by the scores 30-14 and 30-24. The Wolves fell in game four 30-27, but plucked the Peacocks in game five 15-5.
Laura Nelson led the way for the Wolves with 16 kills and a .312 hitting percentage (16K-6E-32TA). Chelsey Deibert added 15 kills of her own (15K-6E-32TA) while setter Kellie Heier had 47 set assists and was tied for a team high with 16 digs (Katie Hegge also had 16 digs).
The Wolves hit a lowly .184 (69K-36E-179TA) but the Peacocks hit only .126 (46K-28E-143TA). The Wolves were out blocked 11 to 6.5, but the Wolves dropped 17 service aces to the Peacocks five.

Grand Forks, N.D. - Much like it would happen in the wilderness, the Wolves battled the Huskies and came out on top, barely. The Wolves traded games with St. Cloud State before winning game five 15-11 to pick up their second 3-2 win of the day.
The Wolves again had a poor game hitting with a .191 hitting percentage (71K-30E-215TA), but again they bettered their competition as the Huskies hit .171 on the day (68K-31E-217TA).
Leading the way on the offensive end for the Wolves was senior Tara Engquist, who had a match high 17 kills. Laura Nelson (15), Chelsey Diebert (14), and Kellie Heier (10) were the other Wolves with double digit kills. Heier also had 14 digs and 52 kill assists in the match to collect her first ever career triple double. Tara Sauter was the last Wolf to post the triple dip back on October 10 th, 2003 against Bemidji State.
The Wolves will meet the Huskies two more times this season starting next Tuesday, August 31st in Aberdeen, then again on October 14th in St. Cloud, Minn.
