Wolves Hitting Woes Continue

Grand Forks, N.D. -The Wolves, after opening the weekend with a wins over Upper Iowa and St. Cloud State, lost their final two games of the Northern Extreme Volleyball Classic (NEVC) to Colorado School of Mines and North Dakota (both in three games). In the Wolves two losses they hit a dreary -.008 and .096.

Katie Hegge finishes second in the tournament with 4.62 digs per game while Kellie Heier finished four in service aces with 0.63 apg.

The Wolves came out playing like an over-confident 2-0 team, while the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) came out like a determined 0-2 team. CSM ripped the Wolves in all three games, 30-26, 30-22, 30-17 to pick up their first win of the season.

The Wolves hurt themselves as they had 31 attack errors and eight service errors. A team will not win many matches when they give their opponents 39 points.

The Wolves hitting percentage, much like an electron, was negative. They finished with a -.008 on the day (30K-31E-129TA). Six Wolves had a sub zero hitting percentage on the day compared to only three on the good side of zero. Chelsey Deibert had a .263 hitting percentage (6K-1E-19TA) to lead the Wolves.

CSM finished the day with a .159 hitting percentage (40K-20E-126TA), but took advantage of seven service aces and six blocks to edge the Wolves.
