Wolves Fall in Opening Match of Hawaiian Style Classic
Hilo, Hawaii - The Wolves lost their opening game of the season at the Hawaiian Style Classic to the 8 th ranked team in the nation, Hawaii Pacific University, in three games. The Wolves lost 23-30, 23-30, 25-30 as they fall to 0-1 on the season. HPU is now 3-0 on the season.
The Wolves were led by Luciola Figueroa and Angie Aadahl. Aadahl had 11 kills on 36 attempts and 14 digs. Figueroa had nine kills, only two errors on 22 attempts and 15 digs. Heather Pudwill was strong in the net as she picked up six block assists in the game. Hawaii Pacific was paced by Flavia Brakling, who had 18 kills, three errors on 45 attempts (.333%) and 10 digs.
In the game HPU hit .231 (54K-21E-143TA) while the Wolves hit only .097 (31K-20-113TA) in the match. The Wolves take on University of Hawaii at Hilo in their second game of the day.
