Wolves Fall to South Dakota in Four Games
Vermillion, S.D. – Northern State was nipped by South Dakota in four game, 30-27, 24-30, 26-30, 27-30. The Wolves played one of their best matches of the season as they matched the Coyotes in almost every statistical category. The Wolves fall to 1-5 on the season while the Coyotes improve to 4-4. Both team will get ready for the Super 8 NSIC/NCC North Central Crossover this Friday and Saturday in Aberdeen.
The main difference in the match was the margin in kills and service aces. The Coyotes had 77 kills and six aces while the Wolves had 73 kills and two aces. The Wolves hitting percentage was the highest its been this season at .234 (73K-25E-205TA). The Coyotes hitting percentage was a shade higher at .239 (77K-26E-213TA) and they out blocked the Wolves 7 to 4.
Angie Aadahl had a team season high in kills and attempts in the match. Thriple A hit .290 in the match with 24 kills, six errors , 62 attempts and 21 digs. Chelsey Deibert had 12 kills of her own to go with eight digs, while Kellie Heier had a triple-double with 53 assists, 10 kills and 18 digs.
The Wolves host the Super 8 NSIC/NCC North Central Regional Crossover this weekend where they will take on Upper Iowa, St. Cloud State and Minnesota State.
