Northern State Season Ends at Hands of Concordia St. Paul
St. Paul, Minn. – Northern State (15-16, 6-8) had their season end at the hands of Concordia St. Paul (27-4, 14-0) in the semi finals of the NSIC Tournament. It took the Golden Bears only 57 minutes to put away the Wolves 30-17, 30-13, 30-16 as the fourth ranked Bears improved to 3-0 against the Wolves this season.
The Wolves amassed only 27 kills compared to 57 by the Golden Bears and were out blocked 8.5 to 1.0. The Wolves hit only .053 in the match and -.079 (7K-10E-38TA) in game two. The Golden Bears hit an astounding .480 (57K-8E-102TA) in the match and with only one service and block error.
The Wolves finished the season 15-16 and 6-8 in the NISC, good enough for fifth place. The loss also ends five seniors’ careers at NSU. Chelsey Deibert, Angie Aadahl, Luciola Figueroa, Laura Nelson and Becky Smathers all finished fine careers as Wolves.
