BISMARCK, ND - The Wolves evened their NSIC record at 2-2 (7-5 overall) with a win over the University of Mary (4-9, 1-3 NSIC) Tuesday night. After dropping the first game, Northern came back to take the final three games of the match for the win.
The Wolves brought a two-game winning streak against the new NSIC opponent into the game Tuesday night, although they put that streak at risk with a 20-30 first-game loss. The team rebounded and played a better all around game the rest of the match, finding holes in the UM defense for kills and putting a wall up at the net, collecting 10.5 blocks on the night.

Junior Kelsey Aden was the shining star of the match. She had a career high 16 kills with an outstanding .483 hitting percentage. Aden also led the squad in blocks, teaming up for seven assists against the Marauder hitters. Odemaris Diaz also had a good night, posting 17 kills with a .279 average and tallying four block assists. Also checking in with double-digit kills was Jill Rasmussen with 10. Kellie Heier ran the offense with 44 assists and collected 25 digs. Blayne Jorgensen was the next leading defender with 23 digs.
Leading the Marauders were Ashley Maas, Tanya Hensch, and Tatiani Santos with 14, 13, and 12 kills each, respectively. Makenzie Hennessy topped all players with 40 digs on the match, the most individual digs posted by any Wolves opponent this year. The team had 129 digs on the night.
The Wolves' next focus is Minnesota State University Moorhead. They will travel to Moorhead for a 7:00 pm match on Friday.
