Perez Named NSIC Player of the Week
ABERDEEN, SD. – Northern State's Melanie Perez was named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts through play last week. This is Perez's second POW award this season, she was also named POW on September 5.
Perez, a sophomore transfer originally from Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, led the Wolves defense to a mark of 2-1 last week, defeating both South Dakota and Upper Iowa. She posted at least 21 digs in all three matches, tallying 68 total digs. In an appearance as an outside hitter against USD, Perez came up with eight kills.
Northern State University (located in Aberdeen, SD) is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
