Nygaard Sets Record, Named Player of the Week

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Northern State junior Stephanie Nygaard has been named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the NSIC office on Monday afternoon. Nygaard was the leading defender for the Wolves last week, averaging 8.89 digs
per game from the libero position. Nygaard is a native of Milbank, S.D. and transferred to NSU this season from Dakota State.
Nygaard set a new NSIC season high for digs in a game against MSU Moorhead on Friday, digging up 58 balls in the match. She added another 22 digs against the Golden Bears on Saturday for an even 80 digs last week. Stephanie is the leading NSU defender this season with 282 digs. This is her first Player of the Week honor.
The Wolves' volleyball team is 8-7 overall and 3-4 in NSIC play. They travel to Winona State and Upper Iowa for matches this weekend.
Northern State University (located in Aberdeen, SD) is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
