Jan. 6, 1999

Northern State stopped a five-game skid by overpowering Northland College (Ashland, Wis.) 72-43 Wednesday night in Wachs Arena.

The Wolves took control of the game from the opening tipoff and were able to use 16 players throughout the game. No one from NSU played more than 18 minutes in the game. With all those fresh legs, the Wolves were able to force the Lumberjills into 30 turnovers.

Junior guard Jammie Coyle (Belle Fourche, S.D.) dominated while on the court, shooting a flawless 4-of-4 from the field, 1-of-1 from downtown and 1-of-1 from the line. She also led the team in rebounds (8), steals (4) and assists (3). Her 10 points tied a team high with freshman forward Amanda Dietrich (Mandan, N.D.) and sophomore forward Natalie Braun (Warner, S.D.). In all, 13 players broke into the scoring column for NSU.

Northern's conference opener against Bemidji has been moved from Saturday at 5:30 p.m. to Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wachs Arena.
