WOLVES DOWN WESLEYAN

Dec. 8, 1998

Northern State fought through a game where nothing would fall to defeat Dakota Wesleyan 75-66 Tuesday.

The Wolves made up for shooting just 37 percent from the field by getting second and third opportunities. NSU outrebounded DWU 55-34 on the night. NSU's board total included a dominant 29 offensive boards.

Sophomore forward Memory Johannsen (Tolstoy, S.D.) and junior guard Jammie Coyle (Belle Fourche, S.D.) scored 17 points apiece to lead NSU. Coyle recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds to add to her point total.

The win boosted NSU's home streak to 29 straight. The team didn't have much time to rest after the game. Instead, the squad boarded a bus to Minneapolis to get on a plane to Texas to compete in the 7-Up Lady Buffs Classic, hosted by West Texas A&M University (Canyon, Texas). The tourney runs through Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tourney Schedule
