WOLVES DEFEAT SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE

Northern State picked up its first win outside of Wachs Arena Thursday night, defeating Southeastern Oklahoma State 68-57 at the 7-Up Lady Buff Classic hosted by West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

Again, NSU (4-3)had trouble finding its mark from the field, shooting just 38 percent for the game, but found a way to win. Sophomore forward Memory Johannsen (Tolstoy, S.D.) led the Wolves with 20 points, followed by junior guard Jammie Coyle (Belle Fourche, S.D.), who netted 19 to go with a team-high 10 rebounds and four assists. Forward Shasti Pendry led SOSU (3-3) with 15 points.

In the late game, Wayland Baptist improved its unblemished record to 10-0 by defeating host West Texas A&M 77-56. The round-robin tourney continues Friday, with NSU taking on Wayland Baptist at 5 p.m. and West Texas A&M playing Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
