WOLVES ANNIHILATE BEMIDJI STATE

Jan. 8, 2000

A day removed from a hard-fought loss at Minnesota-Duluth, Northern State bounced back with a vengeance, lambasting Bemidji State 92-62 Saturday night at Bemidji.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Wolves poured it on the second, outscoring BSU 56-30. As a team, NSU shot 8-of-12 (68 percent) from 3-point range and 58 percent from the field in the second half to open a more than comfortable lead.

Senior guard Amanda Mikuska (Platte) was an unconscious 7-of-10 from 3-point range, just one trey shy of tying the single-game school record for 3-pointers in a game. Mikuska ended with a game-high 21 points in 25 minutes of work. Fellow senior guard Jammie Coyle (Belle Fourche) scored 16 points to go with six rebounds. Junior post Natalie Braun (Warner) and sophomore wing Amanda Dietrich (Mandan, N.D.) rounded out NSU's double-digit scorers with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Christine Schulze led BSU with 16 points.

All 12 players that made the trip saw at least 10 minutes on the floor, and all but one scored. But sophomore guard Holly Schaunaman's (Leola) doughnut in the scoring column was made up for with a team-tying high four assists.
