Northern State never found a rhythm in Friday's 70-53 loss to Southwest State in the semifinal round of the inaugural Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tourney held at Concordia-St. Paul's Gangelhoff Center.
The Wolves shot below 10 percent for much of the first half to allow Southwest to jump out to a 35-19 edge. For the game, NSU shot just 27 percent, while SSU shot 42 percent.
Junior forward Memory Johannsen (Tolstoy) led NSU with 14 points to go with six rebounds. She was the only NSU player to reach double digits. Sophomore post Shanna Dahl (St. Cloud, Minn.) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go with nine points. Andrea Schreier led SSU with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
