Northern jumped out to a quick 10-2 lead over the Yellow Jackets and cruised to a 107-88 win over Black Hills State Saturday night in Spearfish.

The Wolves had five players score in double figures with senior guard Jammie Coyle (Belle Fourche) giving her home area fans a show as she poured in 27 points. Junior forwards Natalie Braun (Warner) and Memory Johannsen (Tolstoy) added 22 and 18 points, respectively, as Northern (5-1) took advantage of 17-24 shooting from the foul line in the first half to post a 58-47 halftime lead. Coyle was given a warm ovation from a few hundred home area fans as she left the court in the waning minutes of the second half.

Junior center Beth Carlson (Coon Rapids, MN) chipped in with 12 points while junior forward Jennifer Murphy (Aberdeen) contributed 11 points. Becky Schultz led BHSU (2-3) with 29 points.
