Northern State, the No. 2 seed in the 2001 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship tournament, will host Bemidji State, the No. 7 seed, in a first-round playoff game Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens. Admission is free for children five years and under. Since Northern is acting as a host site for this Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference event, Wolves Club passes or NSU passes of any kind cannot be honored.
The top four conference teams in the final regular season conference standings host first-round NSIC playoff games, with the winners moving on to the conference final four in St. Paul, Minn. Mar. 2-3. The NSIC tourney winner will get an automatic bid into the NCAA II North Central Region Tournament. Here is the tournament seeding rundown:
