After leading Augustana College 36-28 at halftime, Northern State's offense struggled to score in the second half, mustering only 19 points. Meanwhile, Augustana's offense exploded in the second stanza to allow the Vikings to cruise to a 73-55 win. The Wolves shot a paltry 18 percent in the second half, while the Vikings shot over 45 percent. The Wolves were led in scoring by sophomore guard Holly Schaunaman (Leola) with 14 points, and senior forward Natalie Braun (Warner) with 13. Senior post Jennifer Murphy (Aberdeen) led the Wolves with eight boards and Schaunaman also led the Wolves with five assists.
The Wolves are set to travel to the Kearney tournament this weekend. The loss drops the Wolves' record to 0-3 on the season.
