WOLVES BLAST METRO STATE; RAMBOW EARNS CLASSIC MVP HONORS

Northern State sophomore shooting guard Carin Rambow (Litchfield, Minn.) earned MVP honors at the 2001 Metro State Roadrunner Classic after leading Northern to a 92-69 win over host team Metro State Saturday.

On the weekend, Rambow scored 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in helping NSU exit the Classic as the only unbeaten team. NSU defeated Northwest Missouri State 67-63 in day one action.

Against Metro, Rambow scored a career-high 17 points including five 3-pointers. Senior power forward Shanna Dahl (St. Cloud, Minn.) recorded NSU's first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. NSU's center tandem also got the job done, with junior Tia Michalski (Willow Lake, S.D.) scoring 12 point and grabbing seven boards, and freshman Natalie Hopkins (St. Louis Park, Minn.) scoring 13 and grabbing five boards. Senior forward Jodi Purath (Red Lake Falls, Minn.) rounded out NSU's double-digit scorers with 11 points.

Metro was led by Natasha Molock and Malene Lindholm, who scored 14 points apiece.
