WOLVES ROLL OVER AUGUSTANA

Nov. 28, 2001

Northern State handed Augustana College its first loss of the season in a convincing 72-54 win at NSU's Barnett Center Wednesday night.

The Wolves (4-1) essentially won the game in the first half, using a stifling defense to force 13 turnovers and build a 45-24 lead heading into the locker rooms.

By the end of the game, 17 Wolves players saw action. Junior forward Shana Theobald (Brookings) led the team in scoring with 12 points to go with seven rebounds. The post tandem of junior Tia Michalski (Willow Lake) and redshirt freshman Natalie Hopkins (St. Louis Park, Minn.) also did its part, combining for 22 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore guard Carin Rambow (Litchfield, Minn.) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points, including a 3-for-3 outing from 3-point range. Senior forward Jodi Purath (Red Lake Falls, Minn.) led everyone on the boards with a game-high 10 rebounds. Augie was led by Tamera Oltmanns' 17 points.
