Northern
State senior forward Shanna Dahl (St. Cloud, Minn.) scored
10 of the Wolves' first 15 points to help Northern gain control
early and cruise to a 97-60 win at Northern's Wachs Arena
Wednesday night.
With the
help of Dahl's hot hand, the Wolves (7-3) sprinted to a 17-4
lead and never looked back. Northern posted a 49-26 halftime
advantage and ended up posting 13 players into the scoring
column. In all, 17 players saw playing time.Northern
shot 52 percent from the field while holding Jamestown to
33 percent.
Dahl led
four Wolves in double figures with 16 points to go with a
team-high seven rebounds and three steals. True freshman Andrea
Ronderos (Washburn, N.D.) scored 15 to go with six rebounds,
while sophomore sharpshooter Carin Rambow (Litchfield, Minn.)
put up 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting (including 3-of-4 from
3-point range). Junior forward Shana Theobald (Brookings)
scored 13 points to round out NSU's double-digit scorers.
Senior point guards Holly Schaunaman (Leola) and Sara Hemquist
(Baxter, Minn.) combined for 11 assists.
Jamestown
(1-12) was led by Kara Peterson's 16 points and nine rebounds.
Northern
takes a holiday break before starting up conference play again
on the road with dates at Southwest State (Minn.) and Wayne
State (Neb.) Dec. 29 and 30.
