Vikings Edge Wolves in 73-69 Tilt

SIOUX FALLS S.D .-- The Northern State women's basketball team was edged by Augustana on Wednesday night in Sioux Falls by a score of 73-69.

The first half was an even match-up with the lead switching hands nine times before the Wolves sprinted to an eight-point lead with 9:48 to go. Northern would hold that lead for the remainder of the half but the Vikings cut the advantage to two at the halftime break at 38-36.

Augustana would make a 6-0 run to begin the second half and overtake the lead which they would not relenquish for the rest of the game. Northern drew within one twice in the second half, at the 4:32 mark and again at 4:03.

--Shana Theobald and Amanda Mollman paced the Wolves, each scoring 12 points on the night.

--Mollman also led the team with nine rebounds on the evening. Theobald and Michelle Hanson each pulled down eight.

--NSU held the advantage shooting 40 percent compared to Augie's 37.9 percent.

--Northern turned the ball over 20 times while the Vikings lost it just ten.

--Joanna Naumann scored 23 points for AC to lead the home team in scoring.

--Northern State will play at No. 2 North Dakota on Dec. 11.
