No. 2 North Dakota Uses 31-3 Run to Down Wolves, 84-53

GRAND FORKS, N.D .-- Things looked positive for the Northern State women early in Wednesday night's game at No. 2 North Daktoa. The Wolves held a 15-14 lead over the second-ranked Fighting Sioux before UND proved why they were the second-ranked team in the nation by going on a 31-3 run.

Northern fell behind 38-18 at the halftime break and failed to score in the last 7:56 of the first half. The Sioux didn't let up any in the second half keeping Northern from scoring for over a ten-minute span, beginning with NSU's first-half slump.

UND was able to put up 46 points in the second and held off Northern by an 84-53 count.

--The Wolves were led by sophomore Brooke Fandrich who put up a career high 13 points going 4-for-6 from the floor and 5-for-8 from the free throw line.

--Northern made just one three pointer on the night in 12 attempts.

--The Wolves committed a season high 34 turnovers in the game.

--Amanda Mollman led Northern with six rebounds.

--Becky Moen led UND in scoring with 15 points.

--NSU was outrebounded for the first time this season 49-42.

--Northern State hosts No. 3 South Dakota State on Saturday at 5:30.
