WOLVES LIGHT UP MINNESOTA-MORRIS IN 101-60 CONTEST

Aberdeen, S.D. -- The Northern State women's basketball team shot a school-record 36 three-point field goals in Saturday night's 101-60 victory over Minnesota-Morris in Wachs Arena.

The Wolves were just one three away from tying the school mark for three's made in a game as they hit 13 on the night.

Northern State came out firing as they hit 10-of-19 from long range in the first half guiding them to a 57-24 advantage at the break.

The Wolves cooled off in the second, however, as they hit just 3-of-17 threes in the period.

NSU's Shana Theobald led Northern with 12 points and eight rebounds while Jessi Mostad and Melissa Braaten each added ten. Tia Michalski grabbed seven rebounds in the game as well.

The Wolves, who shot over 61 percent in the first half, hit on 49.4 percent of their shots for the game while limiting the Cougars to a 37.3 percent outing.

The Wolves owend the boards on the night pulling down 61 rebounds compared to UMM's 33 as a team.

Northern State (7-11, 4-5 NSIC) will host Winona State on Jan. 31 in a 5:30 match-up in Wachs Arena.
