LATE GAME SURGE POWERS WOLVES TO VICTORY OVER BEAVERS

Bemidji, Minn. --Northern State rallied from 12 points down in the second half to claim an 81-77 victory over Bemidji State in NSIC women's basketball action on Friday night.

The teams stayed close in the first until the Beavers used a 10-point run in the first to claim a 43-36 lead at halftime.

Bemidji then used a 13-8 run to open the second half and took its largest lead of the game, 56-44, with just over 16 minutes to play.

Northern then got right back in the game with the help of an 11-3 run in a three minute span to get back within two points with just under ten minutes to play.

Northern reclaimed its first lead since early in the game when Shana Theobald hit a layup with 5:43 to play to put the visitors up 74-72.

The Wolves then held off the Beavers and hit key free throws down the stretch to claim the win 81-77.

NSU saw five players in double figures led by Carin Rambow with 15. Tia Michalski posted her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Michelle Hanson hit for 13 as well.

BSU's Christi Goodhart led her team with a game high 20 points on the evening.

The Wolves shot a phenomenal 57 percent from the floor and hit 50 percent from three-point range in the win. Bemidji struggled from three-point range hitting just 6-of-28 (.214) on the night.

NSU plays at UM-Duluth on Saturday.
