EAGLES HAND NSU SEASON-ENDING 79-73 NSIC SEMIFINAL LOSS

St. Paul , Minn. -- Minnesota-Crookston's Cathy Behr hit 9-of-11 shots and was 5-of-5 from three-point range to lead the No. 7 seeded Golden Eagles past Northern State in the NSIC Tournament semifinal game on Saturday.

The Wolves fell down by as many as seven points in the first half but finished the period on an 8-3 run to pull within two at the break.

The Golden Eagles came out hot in the second half as well, however and increased their lead to 14 with 5:03 to go in the game.

The Wolves fought back a little bit but could only get as close as five points with :47 left in the game and UMC increased its lead to earn the 79-73 victory.

Senior Shana Theobald hit for a team high 15 points on the night while Tia Michalski added 13. Michalski also added a game high nine rebounds while Amanda Mollman came up with eight.

Minnesota, Crookston hit on 45 percent of its shots while NSU hit on 41.4 percent.

Northern State ended its season with a 12-17 overall record.
