WINS BATTLE OF THE WOLVES, 73-65
KEARNEY,
NEB. - Northern State received 32 points from their bench and closed
the game with a 6-0 run capturing a 73-65 victory over Colorado
State-Pueblo in the first game of the Nebraska-Kearney Thanksgiving
Classic on Friday night.
The
Wolves held a lead as large as seven in the first half before taking
a 35-32 advantage into the locker room at the half.
NSU
reached leads as large as nine on two occasions in the second half
but the ThunderWolves would draw within two points with :40 remaining
in the game. From that point, NSU hit six-of-six free throws to
close the game out with a 73-65 win.
Liza
Sizer led Wolf scorers with 12 points on the night. Sizer was 4-of-9
from the floor and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe on the evening.
Amanda
Mollman and Carolin Becker each chipped in 11 points and Sara Jensen
added ten to round out Wolves in double-figures.
NSU's
Michelle Hanson pulled down a team high seven rebounds and collected
two blocks in the win, as well.
CSUP's
Kristin Heinl came off the bench to net a game high 14 points while
Quatisha Bailey added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Northern
State (3-1) faces No. 23 Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday night at 7
p.m.
