Top Region Team Keeps Wolves At Bay

February 27, 2004

St. Paul, MN - The women's basketball team were once again taking aim at knocking Concordia-St. Paul off again. CSP, however, had different plans. The Wolves have been the only team in conference play, and second all season, to defeat the Golden Bears. Bolstered by their home court, the Bears took off running and played their tempo of basketball and were able to defeat the Wolves on Friday night.

The Wolves fell victim to CSP by a score of 82-63 in the Gangelhoff Center. The Wolves were led by Freshman Carolin Becker. Becker tallied a total of 19 points on shooting 9-12 from the field. Becker also added five offensive rebounds.

The Wolves struggled shooting as they were only able to shoot 38.6 percent from the field, 25.0 percend from three-point land, and 53.6 percent from the free-throw stripe.

With the loss, the Wolves drop to 13-13 overall and 8-7 in conference action. Northern will wrap up NSIC regular season play at Winona on Saturday night. Tip-off time is 6:00 pm.
