WOMEN SIGN THREE HIGH SCHOOL HOOPSTERS
ABERDEEN,
SD - Northern State head women’s basketball coach Curt Fredrickson
has announced that Jaclyn Arns (St. Michael, Minn.), Ryanne
Brockhaus (Prior Lake, Minn.) and Noelle Hall (Lewiston,
Minn.) have committed to play with the Northern State women’s basketball
team beginning in the 2004-05 season.
Arns,
a 5-6 point guard, posted 12.3 points, four rebounds, four steals
and three assists as a junior at St. Michael High School. Jaclyn
holds her school’s record for single season three-pointers (57)
and steals (96) while leading the squad in scoring, steals and assists
in her last two seasons. She is a two-time all-conference honoree
in basketball and volleyball and has been an academic all-conference
honoree three times.
Brockhaus,
a 5-5 point guard, averaged 12 points, five assists, four steals
and three rebounds per game for Prior Lake High School in her junior
year. She is an all-conference performer and a team captain and
was named as a top 100 player in the state of Minnesota. Ryanne
helped to guide the Lakers to the Missota Conference championship
in 2003 and set her school record for assists. Her team earned a
third place finish in Section 3A state tournament in her sophomore
season and finished fourth last year.
Hall,
a 6-1 forward/center, netted 15 points and seven rebounds per contest
as a junior for Lewiston-Altura High School. She is a three-time
all-conference performer and was named to the Minnesota All-State
team last season. Noelle competed on a summer AAU team that finished
second in the nation. Hall helped to guide LAHS to the sub-section
1AA championship in her last two years.
“We
have added three outstanding young ladies to our Wolves Basketball
program,” commented Coach Fredrickson. “All three athletes play
in very successful programs. Jaclyn and Ryanne are two of the top
point guards in Minnesota and Noelle gives us a presence at the
post position that can score and rebound.”
NSU’s
three additions mark the first of Curt Fredrickson’s 2003-04 recruiting
class.
