Golden, Colo. –The Wolves found themselves up two at the half, but used a 13-2 run to start the second half to down Colorado Christian 73-46 in their first game at the Best Western Central Denver/Mile High Inn and Suites Classic in Golden. Colo.
Noelle Hall (Fr., F/C, Altura, Minn.) led the Wolves in scoring as she dropped in 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in her second collegiate game. Amber Powell (Sr., G, Parkston, S.D.) had 10 points and was the only other Wolf in double figures in the contest. Carolin Becker (So., F, Beulah, N.D.) scored eight points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds; she now has 19 rebounds in her first two games. The Wolves had 13 different players score against a Colorado Christian team that only dress nine players in the game.
CCU’s Rhiannon Dickison scored 15 first half points to keep the Cougars close. The Wolves defense was able to hold her scoreless in the second half on their way to their second win over a RMAC school this week.
The Wolves shot 43% (30-69) from the field compared to 28% (17-59) for the Cougars. The Wolves out-rebounded the Cougars 53-35 in the game, as they are +20 in rebounding so far this season.
The Wolves travel to Colorado to take on Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. CST in Golden Colorado.
