Golden, Colo. – The teacher got the best of the student as Curt Fredrickson’s Wolves ripped past his former player and assistant coach Paula Krueger’s Colorado School of Mines 81-54. The Wolves improve to 3-0 on the season while the Oar Diggers fall to 1-2.
The Wolves shot 50% (27-54) from the field on the night as they had eleven different players score. Noelle Hall (Fr., F, Altura, Minn.) scored a career high 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting and grabbed 8 rebounds as the freshman continues to impress early in the season. Ali Chmielewski (Jr., G, Foley, Minn.) was perfect from the field as she hit all five of her shots for 11 points in 19 minutes of play. MichelleHanson (Sr., F/C, Fargo, N.D.) scored 14, while Liza Sizer (Sr., G, Miller, S.D) rounded out the Wolves in double figures as she dropped in ten points of her own.
The Wolves again dominated the glass as they out-rebounded CSM 47-27, putting their rebounding margin after three games at +20. The Wolves hit six of 18 three pointers as well, compared to two of 17 for the Oar Diggers.
