Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State stopped a three game skid as they held on in a close game, defeating Si Tanka (Huron) University 73-69 at Barnett Center. The game had 17 lead changes and eight ties before the Wolves went on a 8-0 run midway through the second half to take the lead for good.
Si Tanka hit three shots from downtown in the last five minutes of the game to keep them in it, but a couple of nice offensive sets lead to points for the Wolves and they hit their free throws down the stretch to improve to 7-4, 0-0 NSIC on the season. Si Tanka falls to 7-7, 3-3 DAC-10.
Miranda Boepple (So., F, Dickinson, N.D.) started slow but collected her second double-double of the season. She lead all scorers with a career high 20 points on 6 of 13 shooting and tied a career high with ten rebounds. Liza Sizer had 11 points on 5 of 12 shooting, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
