Jacks' 3 Balls & Wolves Turnovers

ABERDEEN, S.D. – South Dakota State hit 16 three pointers as they sprinted past Northern State 82-50. The Jackrabbits hit 16 of 39 (41%) three pointers, made 27 of 74 (36.5%) shots from the field and grabbed 22 offensive rebounds as they improve to 29-15 all-time versus Northern State. The Wolves fall to 12-8 overall while the Jacks improve to 16-6.

After the two teams exchanged baskets to start the game, the Jacks opened up a 24-0 run in which they hit five three pointers. The Wolves did not score their second basket until 8:49 left in the first half. The closest the Wolves would come in the first half was 15 with a minute and a half to go, but the Jacks hit a pair of three pointers to extend the lead to 21 at the break, 43-22. The Jackrabbits hit 9 of 18 threes in the first half, while the Wolves committed 15 turnovers.

The second half was more of the same as the Wolves turned the ball over another 14 times to total a season high 29 in the game. The Wolves were also out rebounded 42-38 in the game, but the Jacks grabbed 22 offensive boards, including 11 in the second half, while committing only 10 turnovers all night.

The leading scorer for the Wolves was Noelle Hall (Fr., C, Altura, Minn.) who scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds. Miranda Boepple (So., F, Dickinson, N.D.) added eight points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

The Wolves return to NSIC action this Saturday when they host MSU Moorhead at 6:00 p.m. in Barnett Center.
