ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State is back in a tie for second place in the NSIC after beating Minnesota, Crookston 83-54 on Senior Night at Barnett Center. All three of the Wolves seniors scored in double figures as the Wolves improve to 6-0 against Minnesota, Crookston at Barnett Center. Senior Amber Powell tied a career high with 13 points in the game to lead the Wolves while senior Michelle Hanson had 12 and senior Liza Sizer added 11 in their final regular season game at Wachs Arena. The Wolves improve to 16-9 overall and 8-4 in the NSIC while the Golden Eagles fall to 15-10 overall and 7-5 in the NSIC.
Strong defense from the Wolves clipped the Eagles' wings as Crookston shot only 31% from the field, and a dismal 15% from 3-pt range. Leading the Eagles in scoring was Karna Plaine with 15 points.
The Wolves outrebounded the Eagles 41-29, with Caroline Becker hauling in 6 rebounds for the Wolves.
The Wolves close out the season next weekend when they take on Southwest Minnesota State and Wayne State. The Wolves are currently tied with the Mustangs of Southwest at 8-4 in the NSIC.
