Jensen Leads Wolves Past Jamestown
Northern State (8-2, 0-0 NSIC) defeated Jamestown College (6-9, 2-3 DAC-10) 68-54 behind a balanced offensive attack, which was led by Sara Jensen’s 16 points. Wolves center Noelle Hall swatted a career high seven blocks in the game as Curt Fredrickson picked up his 595 th career win.
The game was close at the half with the Wolves leading 32-26. However, the Wolves exploded to start the second half as they went on a 16-0 over the first five minutes. The Wolves would make it as large as a 24 point lead with 12 minutes to go. Jamestown battled back to as close as 14 with five minutes to go, but would come no closer.
Sara Jensen (Sr., G, South Shore, S.D.) led all scorers with 16 points on 5 of 9 shooting. She was 4 of 6 from three point range, which tied her career high. Noelle Hall was a force inside as she had ten points and seven blocked shots, the most in a single game for an NSU player dating back to the 1998-99 season. Miranda Boepple (Jr., F, Dickinson, N.D.) added seven points, six assists and five rebounds.
Northern State will hit the road to open their conference schedule this Friday night at 6:00 p.m. at Wayne State (NE). They will then take on SW Minnesota State on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. in Marshall, Minn.
