Wolves Knock Off Black Hills State 79-67 in Spearfish
Spearfish, S.D. – Northern State (14-3, 6-1 NSIC) knocked off the NAIA’s 14 th ranked team in a 79-67 win over Black Hills State (12-9, 6-2 DAC-10) in non-conference action. Noelle Hall (So., C, Altura, Minn.) scored a team high 22 points for the Wolves as she surpassed 600 points in her career at Northern State.
The Wolves led the entire way, holding a 44-35 lead at the half. Joining Hall in double figures were Ali Chmielewski (Sr., F, Foley, Minn.), Sara Jensen (Sr., G, South Shore, S.D.) and Miranda Boepple (Jr., F, Dickinson, N.D.). Chmielewski scored 15 of her 17 points in the first half while Boepple scored all ten of her points in the second half. Jensen had 16 points nine coming off three pointers.
The Wolves forced 25 Yellow Jacket turnovers compared to only 11 of their own. The Wolves were out rebounded 42 to 30 in the game and were only 12 of 20 from the free throw line.
The Wolves return to NSIC play this Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. when they host MSU Moorhead at Barnett Center.
