Jessica Deinert 5-of-5 from 3-Point Range
Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State’s Jessica Deinert scored a game/career high 17 points as she was 6-of-6 from the field and 5-of-5 from three point range in Northern State’s 90-67 win over Upper Iowa. Northern State improved to 17-4 overall while Upper Iowa falls to 5-19 on the season.
Deinert (Fr., F, Mount Vernon , S.D. ) hit three of her threes when the Wolves went on a 12-0 run to open up a 27-15 lead midway through the first half. The Wolves would open up a 20 point lead with 2:20 minutes to go in the half and lead 46-30 at the intermission. Deinert set career marks in nearly all statistical categories including points (17), field goal made and attempted (6) and three pointers made and attempted (5).
Noelle Hall (So., C, Altura, Minn.) and Carolin Becker (Jr., F Beulah, N.D.) where the other Wolves in double figures. Hall had 13 points and tied a career high with six assists. Becker scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Northern State came out of their shooting woes as they hit 11 of 19 (57.9%) three pointers and 32 of 63 (50.8%) from the field. The Peacocks were 26 of 56 (46.4%) and 6 of 13 (46.2%) from beyond the arc.
Northern State stays home this weekend to host Concordia St. Paul and Winona State. Both games set for 6:00 p.m. at the Barnett Center.
