Noelle Hall Collects 6th Double Double of Season in 61-43 Win
Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State (19-4, 8-2 NSIC) held Winona State (8-15, 1-9 NSIC) under 44 points for the second time this season as they whipped the Warriors 61-43 in front of 5,723 fans at Barnett Center. Northern State’s Noelle Hall (So., C, Altura, Minn.) collected her sixth double double of the season as she scored ten and ripped down 14 boards.
Northern State held a 35-16 halftime lead, which marked the second time the Wolves held the Warriors under 20 points in the first half. The Wolves were up 41-11 at Winona State back on Jan. 20 th when they went on to win 67-41.
The Wolves defense allowed only one field goal in the first 14 minutes of the second half for the Warriors.
Leading scorer for the Wolves was Carolin Becker (Jr., F, Beulah, N.D.) who put up a game high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Ali Chmielewski added 14 of here own to go with four rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes of play.
For the game the Wolves shot 45% (23-of-51) compared to 28% (15-of-53) for the Warriors. The Wolves won by 18 despite turning the ball over 21 times. The Warriors could only turn the 21 turnovers into seven points.
The Wolves did out rebounded the Warriors 51 to 24 and 14 to 4 on the offensive end.
Leading scorer for the Warriors was Jamie Majerowicz, who scored 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting.
The Wolves take their last road trip of the regular season when they head to Bemidji State and Minnesota, Crookston next Friday and Saturday. Both games set for 6:00 p.m.
