Hall Scores Career High As Wolves Win On Road

Bemidji, Minn.- The Northern State Wolves (18-7, 11-5 NSIC) ended a four game road losing streak as they defeated the Bemidji State Beavers (13-11, 8-7 NSIC) 86-73. The Wolves were led by Noelle Hall as she scored 28 points, which a new career high.

The Wolves dominated the first half, keeping the Beavers to just eight field goals and a shooting percentage of 25.8%. They led by 19 at halftime, 38-19. Noelle Hall had 15 points and snared 3 rebounds in the first 20 minutes. Carolin Becker also had a good half as she scored 9 points while grabbing 8 rebounds.

The Wolves stretched their lead to 23 points, 68-43, with just 7:06 left to play in the game before the Beavers mounted a dramatic comeback. They outscored the Wolves 30-18 the rest of the way, but the Wolves were able to hit some big free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Northern State was led by Noelle Hall with 28 points, going 12-of-16 from the field. Carolin Becker scored 15 points while snaring 11 rebounds for a double double. Miranda Boepple had 13 points and Melissa Braaten scored 11 for the Wolves.

The Beavers were led by Heidi Mazke as she scored 14 points on 6 of 19 shooting. Amy Lawson scored 13 points, Stephanie Peterson scored 10 and Colleen Boell scored 10 for the Beavers.

The Wolves outscored the Beavers in the paint 42 to 24 and had 21 points off turnovers to the Beavers' 13. The Wolves shot 49.2% (30/61) from the field and 35.7% (5/14) from the three point arc.

The Wolves will be in action next when they travel to Crookston, Minn. to take on the Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles on February 17th at 6:00 pm.
