Wolves Struggle in Reno, NV
Northern State Finished 22nd at the Reno Tournament of Champions
Reno, NV- The Northern State Wolves participated in one of the toughest tournaments in college wrestling on December 18 th in Reno, NV. The tournament had some stiff competition as it displayed some of the top teams in the nation at all levels. The tournament also featured the Oklahoma State Cowboys who are ranked No. 1 in Division I and the defending NCAA Division I national champions.
The Wolves did manage to get 4 wins on the day with Todd Naasz (R.-So., Mobridge, SD) leading the way as he went 2-2 at 197lbs. The other two wrestler's that got a win for the Wolves were Dana Dargatz (Sr., Webster, SD) at 157lbs, and Matt Englund (Sr., Pierre, SD) at 165 lbs. Those three wrestlers went 1-2 on the day.
The Wolves ended up finishing 22 nd out of the 27 teams that participated in the tournament.
The Wolves will return to action on January 12 th as they take on St. Cloud State in Aberdeen, SD at 7:00 pm.
