Lenae (Reinschmidt) HarrisonAlong with playing freshman basketball, Lenae (Reinschmidt) Harrison excelled in four years of Cross Country and Track & Field at Northern State University. Her All-American achievements in Track & Field include placing 5 th in the 2-mile relay Indoor National Meet in 1984; 6 th in the distance medley relay Indoor National Meet in 1986; 5 th in the mile run Indoor National Meet in 1986; 3 rd in the 3000 meter run Outdoor National Meet in 1986. She was a NAIA National meet qualifier in both Cross Country and Track all four years. In 1986 Lenae was selected as the Hildred Wolfe Outstanding Athlete and was named the District Athlete of the Year Award. Her team also captured the District 12 Team Championship in Track & Field in 1984.

Since leaving Northern State University, Lenae has continued to pursue excellence as a teacher and as a coach in both Cross Country and Track & Field. She has trained numerous athletes to success and continued to pursue her personal running goals, completing two full marathons (Grandma’s and the Twin Cities) and two Sioux Falls half-marathons. In 2001, Lenae was named the Sioux Falls Assistant Coach of the year.

Lenae earned her B.S. in Secondary Education and a Masters in Leadership and Education. Currently, she is taking courses to receive an English Language Learner Endorsement. She has been teaching for 16.5 years, and her educational experience as an educator has been in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and South Dakota (Watertown and Sioux Falls).

Presently, she is teaching 9-12 Special Education at Washington High in the Sioux Falls School District. Lenae has one daughter, Jenae who is 12 and attends Patrick Henry Middle School.
