1973-76

Mark NipeMark Nipe was a four-year letter winner in track and a three-year letter winner in football at Northern State from 1973-76. A two-year starter in football, Nipe was selected as team captain and to the NAIA All-District team as a flanker and in 1976. During that season he caught 55 passes breaking the single season pass reception record established by Dick Wherry in 1966. His track team was the 1974 NAIA District 12 Track champions in a season, which he set the indoor, and outdoor triple jump records. Nipe was also named the Exponent NSC Male Athlete of the Year in 1976-77.

Nipe graduated from Clark High School were he was a three-sport athlete (football, basketball and track).

After graduation Mark taught high school math and coached football and track at Arlington and Milbank.  He was a graduate assistant at NSU in 1979-80 working as an assistant coach in football and track.  Since that time Mark has worked in the information technology area as an analyst and consultant.  He is currently a Lead IT Designer for eFunds Corp in Woodbury, MN where he designs and supports applications used by most of the nation's financial institutions.   Mark is active in his church, participating in committees and music. 

Mark and his wife Joy live in Lino Lakes, MN and have 4 daughters:  Liz 25, Emily 22, Laura 15 and Megan 13.
