Northern scored again early in the second when Jake Parten hooked up with freshman Charlie Johnston on a 38-yard touchdown strike to give NSU the 14-0 lead.

Following that touchdown, the Cougars decided to make it interesting, drawing within a touchdown when Paris Moore scored from two-yards out with 5:26 to go in the half.

Northern would open the game up again before halftime with a Ronnie Cruz rush for a touchdown and Deacon Burns' second score of the day to give the Wolves a 28-7 cushion at the break.
