BACK TO BUSINESS!

ABERDEEN, SD - With the lights gleaming, a South Dakota sunset falling behind the stands, smoke rolling from the northeast side of the field and the cannon booming, the 2003 version of Wolves football claimed its territory and kicked off its season with the first practice of the year at Swisher Field on Sunday night.

Nearly 100 players took to the field as fans, parents, media and coaches got to see the start of the 2003 season together.

During the night, the Wolves ran through three hours of basic drills in helmets. During the upcoming week, the team will add shoulder pads before Saturday's practice in full pads.

The Wolves will practice continuously up until Friday when they will take a day off to lend a hand to the City of Aberdeen in their annual "Day of Champions" where all players and coaches will contribute volunteer hours across the city.

The Wolves will begin their playing season on Sep. 6 when they host Augustana College in a 7 p.m. tilt at Swisher Field.
